End-to-end automation for a food-delivery platform

The client is a UAE food-delivery platform whose ordering, cart, and checkout flows run across a wide range of real mobile devices. Those journeys are where the business earns its revenue, so any break directly costs orders.

The platform released often, but each release depended on a slow manual regression pass across devices that could not keep up with the pace of change.

Regression across the ordering, cart, and checkout flows was run by hand on physical devices, taking days and blocking each release. The manual pass was the bottleneck in an otherwise fast delivery process.

The device and configuration spread was too large to cover manually, so checkout defects reached real customers on devices the team had not tested. Coverage was thin exactly where revenue was at stake.

The platform needed fast, reliable regression across real devices that fit inside the release cadence rather than gating it. Turning days into minutes was the goal.

We automated the ordering, cart, and checkout journeys in Playwright and TypeScript, running them against real devices on BrowserStack so coverage reflected what customers actually use. Testing on real devices is what caught the faults an emulator would miss.

We wired the suites into GitLab CI to run on every release in parallel, collapsing a multi-day manual pass into minutes. Fast, deterministic feedback let the team ship with confidence.

We built the framework for maintainability with clean page objects, stable selectors, and isolated test data, so it stayed trustworthy as the app evolved. A red build reliably meant a genuine checkout defect.
